John DAFTER, 44, Wiltshire, wife Johanna and Ruth, John, Louisa, William and Moses. Note the middle 3 are all born in Newport (Wales) and found 'together' in GRO birth search.][1841 W aged 33 and live in St Woollos (indexed as as DaPter) but all N BiC][1861 aged 56 b BluMsdon sic]]](note 2009 Ancestry 1851 has indexed as DaFler) He was baptized on 9 Feb 1806 in Broad Blunsdon, Wiltshire.24 [[Baptism note: 9 Feb. Par reg. Minister W Jones][Terry Smith has 10 Feb ex Trowbridge RO]] About 1838 he was a Policeman in Bristol.25 [Occupation note: from son Robert Manship Baptism record] About 1841 he was a L (abourer).26 He lived in Commercial Wharf, St Woollos about 1841.27 About 1851 he was a Farmer or Tanner Labourer.21 [Occupation note: 1851 census] He lived in Hamley's Buildings, Stillhouse Lane, Bedminster, Bristol about 1851.21 [Resided at note: 1851 census](note: Cecilia Martin, nee Bailey, was living in Still House Lane in 1891 and 1901 with John and Elizabeth Tanner) He lived in Turners Buildings, Bedminster about 1861.23 [Resided at note: Turners Buildings are near Aylburton Place (as Alburton on Census pages!) near Regent Rd (SW of TM stn)] About 1861 he was a General Labourer.28 He died about Jun 1864 in Bedminster R-d.29 [Death note: possibly Jun q 1864 Bedminster RD 5c 53x (8 I think)](wife Johanna a widow in 1871) [[General note: We noted an Alfred _ipperess Dafter on FBMD) and wondered if _ipperess was a mother or gmother maiden name. We also noted a Robert Dafter married a Ruth Nipperis in 1805 in Highworth Wiltshire (IGI ref SCN 1279306 ( ) **. (JD born Wiltshire)
It is possible that they are John's parents. Note, eldest (?) known daughter is Ruth.
Also, on FBMD there is a Robert Masship (misspell) Dafter b Sep q 1837 Bristol 11 109. Query eldest son: note Robert]

Acford is probably correct because son JH Acford Dafter is found at GRO]]
(I tried to find Louisa Warden and found a Melinda Louisa Dafter married to John Francis Warden (VRI then IGI) on 13 Oct 1884 in Temple, Bristol. VRI also has in source FHL 1597218:
JFW aged 35 and previously married, and his father as James W.
MLD aged 22 and her father as Alfred D
None of these people appeared to be in 1851, 1881 censuses or Free BMD)

Why living in Aberdare, Wales in 1881 and 1891? I cannot find any children (or as married) there. Mr John DAFTER and Miss Johanna AC(K)FORD had the following children:
