12. Mr George BROWN was born before 26 Apr 1778. [[[[Birth note: his name was on Gravestone of his daughter Henrietta Brown][Found his children Baptism records which confirmed this name, that of their mother, and where they came from (Escomb and Bailey Durham)][Know of existance from the Will of George Culley, an uncle, dated 1794][Christened 26 Apr 1778 in Escomb]]]] He was baptized on 26 Apr 1778 in Escomb. [Baptism note: we looked in Escomb (only) and found only one suitable George Brown and he had a father Peter Brown](Also on IGI) He signed a will on 13 Dec 1809 in Spennimore House, County of Durham. [[Will note: Durham Uni Salvin Papers 1/23/12][names mentioned are --- me George Brown of Spennimore House in the County of Durham Farmer made this thirtieth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine --- --- Richard Wharton ? of old Park, Esquire: John Farrow the younger of Westerton ?, Farmer: John Pattison of Water Slack, Farmer: --- --- my dear Wife Elizabeth Brown --- --- my Son Peter Thomas Brown --- --- the support and Education of my Children during their minority --- --- my Daughter Ann Brown --- --- to the Child with which my wife is now Ensient and Pregnant --- --- appoint my said wife and my brother John Brown Joint Executors of this my Will --- --- Witnesses --- --- joseph Longstaff - jane Rickaby - Tho: Laidlere _ .]] C 1803 and c 1810 he was a Farmer of Spenni/ymoor House.16 [Occupation note: 1810 from Burial record] He died on 2 Feb 1810.17,18 [[Death note: Died (c 1810) in Durham before Henrietta born: family tradition][We found actual date in Durham Record Office]] He was buried on 5 Feb 1810 in Whitworth, Co. Durham.17,18

Mr George BROWN and Miss Elizabeth WHEATLEY were married on 16 Nov 1801 in Durham.19,20 [Marriage note: St Mary-le-Bow. Witness: Hen Wheatley (father ?): Alice Wheatley: George Kilburn](See original image ***** which is "typed") Miss Elizabeth WHEATLEY (daughter of Mr Henry WHEATLEY and Miss Elizabeth W OF H WHEATLEY (LEWIS ?)) was born before 19 Jan 1770. [[[[Birth note: Baptism. Also; died 21 Oct 1854 aged 83 years (MI transcription)][Native of the Bailey of Durham on Baptism record of son, Peter (1804)][1851 Census aged 79 as MiL to Alexander Hoy][1841 aged 65 Ind with Alexander Hoy (indexed as Brison)]]]] She was baptized on 19 Jan 1770 in Durham. [Baptism note: St Mary the Less in the South Bailey, Durham: daughter of Henry Wheatley and Elizabeth] She lived in Northumberland, West Thirston about 1841.21 [Resided at note: 1841 as aged 65 as Ind in same household as Alexander Brown (indexed Ancestry as Brison)] She lived in Northumberland, East Thirston about 1851.22 [Resided at note: 1851 as aged 79 as MiL to Alexander Brown] She died on 21 Oct 1854 in East Thirston, probably.23 [[Death note: aged 83 years from MI transcription][FBMD has Dec q 1854 Morpeth RD (includes E and W Thirston etc) 10b 163.
